Disturbed

Disturbed is the word. Disturbed is the expression on my face. I am DISTURBED. Disturbed by the many issues concerning rolling. I have been skating for quite awhile and i have seen many faces come and go and also many faces that have stuck to this thing that we commonly refer to as rolling.

Through the four years of skating, i have kept an ocean of wonderful memories and a handful of bad ones. This handful is one which i have clinged on for all this while. Reading the msg boards on be-mag and others, i have noticed a lot of things, people discussing about their set-ups, what tricks are the coolest and what is up with the pros and what they're doing; they're wearing this shit and that shit but it all comes down to one thing bad. It all starts to be argumentative. One kid says this and the other says another just to piss that kid off and the result is a msg board full of pissed off skaters. There, they have F.B.A or Full Blown Aids, here we have Furious George. Truthfully, i have nothing against them and i could care less about what they say or do cos they have their own opinion and i respect that, but it all descends into skaters arguing over what? nothing... and frankly, i hate it, it all results into hate. Of course hate among fellow rollers, among people is inevitable, there's nothing that no one can do to dismiss hate out of anything at all. But hate can be avoided. There's no point in introducing hate to something when there shouldn't be any hate in the first place. There is only discussion to be done, words to comprehend but never hate to be introduced.

The line doesn't stop there. I have skated with almost every skater here. Maybe some remember me, maybe some don't and maybe most don't even know my name but that doesn't matter. From all those times that i sat down and heard people talk, sometimes i hear them talk about this guy and that guy and how he sucks at rolling or how he sucks at everything and which pro he's tryin to imitate and all that crap. Often a time, my ears are being held captive by their words and i try to steer them away but i've been held hostage since. I do talk about other people too, i admit that, but we shouldn't talk shit about other people behind their backs. If we're courageous enough, if we have respect for that person even though we dislike him/her, we should say it straight to their faces. If they accept it, then fine, at least they have respect for us too. If they can't, and if they let their ignorance get the better of them, then just let them be, don't talk about them behind their backs, cos what has to be said has been said and it's up to them to evaluate and recalculate what has been said to them. I think that this is right and disliking someone is not wrong but above all, it's respect that everyone deserves and it is respect that everyone has to start showing. Don't be a wuss and start arguing on MIRC or some random msg board. If you've got nothing to say, then don't say anything.

I know, you guys have probably seen this crap of mine written by others and i'll probably get the same response anyways, but the fact is, i don't mind, i don't mind being dissed and all that, at least i got my point across, and if it could make a difference to some, then i'd be so damn glad. I for once, am gonna start showing some respect for my fellow rollers here so why don't you?
